Procrastination Is A Crime We Are All Guilty Of

If there is one thing that I hate it procrastination. No, I don't hate it because it's hard to spell or pronounce. I hate it because it hinders everyone from reaching their daily goals. I for one have been a victim of procrastination for many years now. Sure, I like being lazy and just doing all day but at the end of the day you'll realize how much time you have wasted when in fact if you used your time wisely, you would have done something really productive with your life.

I did so many things today and I am happy about it. I am happy when I am busy. No matter how stressed out or tired I get, I still feel happy because I know that I made use of my time wisely. I like making a list of things to do and I like putting them in my planner but just like everybody else, I can't really follow everything on the list that I make due to many reasons. Yes, procrastination can also be one of those reasons. As of now, I've decided not to make use of any list or any planners. I'm trying to simply remember everything that I need to do for the day and thus, letting myself do the time management freely. I am somewhat feeling more comfortable in what I am doing now than when I used a list and a planner. I felt like I was being restricted to following the exact time, the exact thing to do and when things don't go according to my schedule then I start to get annoyed and procrastinate. I guess I learned that I have to take things one at a time and just let things slide. I can't always rush myself and cram everything just because of some dumb list or planner. I intend to keep myself busy and to follow what I have already started. Hopefully, this way, the procrastination bug won't hit me.

There are many ways on how we can combat procrastination. Here are some that I came up with:

1. Always keep your mind set on the goals that you want to achieve daily.
2. Stay focused and take things one at a time.
3. I know keeping a list and a schedule can be a big hassle for everyone but sometimes it works. Try it!
4. Never lose interest in the things that you have to do.
5. It doesn't matter if you can't do everything within the day, what matters most is that you did half or more than half of what you are supposed to do.

Only then can one be able to stop himself/herself from procrastinating but then again, procrastination can hit you anytime and anywhere so you should be aware when it does so that you can find a way to fight it.

Speaking of procrastinating, while I was writing this for my blog, one of my student procrastinated in my class. Why do I think so? Because I called him, prepared to have a class and there he was busy playing games. I don't know if he knows that I know what he was actually doing when he was talking to me but anyway, he decided to not have a class with me. Just because he was too busy playing some dumb computer game. As if playing that game would ever make him good in English. I was annoyed by his behavior and I felt insulted for he cancelled the class just because of something irrelevant. Sure, he wanted to have fun but I think it would have been better if he did it not during my class. So, here I was all armed and ready for battle when I realized that my opponent isn't even dressed for battle yet. Let's see how he feels about missing my class one day. I am sure that one day he will realized that he never should have missed our class for if he attended it, he would have learned something more to make him better at something but oh well, looks like procrastination won once again...
So true. I think I know these reasons first hand for I fell prey to all of them... UNCONSCIOUSLY of course.
Yikes! If only you knew earlier what a day of procrastination could do to you...
So, here's my solemn oath. From now on, I will stop procrastinating. I simply must not procrastinate over and over again...
